In the healthcare sector, a balance between innovation and patient-centric care is vital, yet both companies and patients sometimes become victims of fraud. Despite its good intentions, the healthcare industry is not exempt from deceit, with an estimated annual fraud cost of $68 billion, according to the USA National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association. These figures affect numerous individuals via increased medical expenses. Kulbir Singh, an expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning, recognized this issue. He used his expertise to create a system using AI that identifies discrepancies in vast amounts of clinical data, helping counteract fraudulent practices and saving millions annually. Furthermore, Singh has pioneered AI's use in predictive healthcare, developing a tool that potentially detects early-stage breast cancer. His AI innovations assist medical professionals in informed decision-making. For his contributions, Singh received the International Achievers Award and also launched aiboard.io, a platform promoting AI knowledge exchange in healthcare.
