Ramanuja, a revered philosopher and theologian, illuminated the Indian subcontinent in the 11th and 12th centuries CE. Hailing from the southern regions of India, Ramanuja is celebrated for his invaluable contributions to the Visishtadvaita (Qualified Non-dualism) school of Vedanta. This doctrine introduces a subtle distinction: While it acknowledges the unity of the individual soul ('Jivatma') and the universal soul ('Paramatma' or 'Brahman'), it also emphasizes their distinction, elucidating that the soul, while divine, remains a distinct part of the divine whole.

Throughout his life, Ramanuja ardently propagated the path of Bhakti (devotion) as the means to achieve salvation. His in-depth commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Brahma Sutras not only refined the philosophical landscapes of his time but also provided spiritual solace and guidance to countless seekers.

Reflecting on Ramanuja's vast ocean of wisdom, some of his revered quotes include:

"Just as the light of a lamp removes the darkness in a room, devotion and wisdom remove the darkness of ignorance."

"The Supreme Being is the inner soul of all. Only through grace and love can one approach Him."

"The soul, though divine, is enveloped by ignorance. Only through the grace of the Almighty can one truly perceive and attain liberation."
